Inter-district vehicle-lifting gang busted; 10 arrested

Neradigonda police in Adilabad district busted an inter-district vehicle-lifting gang by arresting 10 members and recovering seven motorcycles, three autorickshaws and a car worth around ₹17 lakh.The arrested persons, all from Nirmal, included alleged kingpins Yasar Ahmed, 25, and Sohail, 25, police said.The gang was allegedly involved in a string of vehicle thefts in Hyderabad and the erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts.

Five gang members had allegedly threatened police with a knife and fled after being stopped at Kupti check post during a vehicle checking drive in Neradigonda mandal on Friday night.They were arrested the next day after police intensified surveillance. Based on their interrogation, police arrested five other members of the gang on Saturday evening.
