A man died in an accident here on Sunday (July 26, 2026).According to the police, V. Settu (49), a resident of Andipatti near Kondalampatti, along with C.
Perumal, were headed to Five Roads on a two-wheeler. While Settu suddenly turned the moped to the right, G. Pranav Aadhiya (19), a resident of MDS Nagar who was driving his two-wheeler behind them, collided with their vehicle.
In the impact, Perumal was thrown from the vehicle, hitting the centre median, He sustained grievous injuries and died on the way to Salem Government Hospital. Settu sustained a fracture to his leg and was admitted to a private hospital in Salem. The Hasthampatti police registered a case and are investigating further.
