'Nothing makes sense' - Ramsay-Peaty beaten again

After finishing third in the 100m on Saturday, three-time Olympic champion Ramsay-Peaty, 31, was unable to keep up with the pace of Australian Sam Williamson who took his second gold with victory in the 50m.Englishman Ramsay-Peaty, who was tearful after defeat on Saturday, was less emotional in the aftermath this time but was again unsure why he was unable to find his best times."I am working way too hard," he told BBC Sport."

If those results were how much I am working then they would be a lot better."I need to look at that and adjust course because we are sailing in some rough seas right now and it is not sustainable."I have come back from worse and we will see where we end up."

It is quite disappointing in terms of the time, and, as we know, times equal medals."I felt I could have been a little quicker, but I need to look at it and see where it is going on because nothing makes sense this week to be honest."Ramsay-Peaty dominated the events under the coaching of Mel Marshall, who relocated to Australia in 2024.

After the Paris 2024 Olympics, Ramsay-Peaty began training at Repton in Derbyshire but has since moved back to London to the tutelage of Lisa Bates."I am very, very happy, couldn't be happier with where I am training now," said Ramsay-Peaty."It is hard work, but we need to make sure that hard work is going in the right place."
